Charter Farm Produce is a family owned and operated local roadside farm market. We use as few chemicals on our produce as we can and still have a respectable product to sell. Although we are not organic, we eat the same produce that we sell and do not want to eat a lot of chemicals just to have a perfect product.
We open in the spring when asparagus is available, and then move into strawberries. There is usually a short time after strawberries when we do not have anything on the stand, but we reopen again for the 4th of July weekend and are then open right though to Halloween night.
Some items are also U-pic. These are strawberries, green beans, white half-runner beans, tomatoes and sometimes peppers.
Most of the produce that we sell is grown right here on our own farm, although sometimes because of the time of season, we buy certain items that we do not have available . Also, we do not raise any fruit except for strawberries and melons, so most of the fruit is bought from a vender with whom we have worked with the whole 25 years we have been in business.
We feel that by having these products available for you when you shop with us, it helps make your visit more efficient.
